Not open yet Island Harvest is in planning. Nothing on this site is for sale, and nothing will be until Puerto Rico licensing is complete.

How the giving works

Four decisions turn "a portion of proceeds" into something you can actually check.

Five percent of gross, not of profit

Gross sales, before costs. A share of profit is unverifiable from the outside and moves whenever the margin does — which is exactly why it is the version most brands pick. This one is checkable.

One partner per strain, for a year

Not a quarterly rotation. A year is long enough for a small organisation to plan around the money, and long enough for the pairing to mean something to the person holding the jar.

Published monthly, same date, no exceptions

Month, strain, units sold, amount donated, partner, receipt. The month it lapses is the month the mission becomes a marketing line, and everyone can tell.

Residents direct part of it

Members of the resident program vote once a year on one of the four partners. Visitors fund most of the donation; the island decides part of where it lands.

What 5% actually is

Small numbers, stated plainly, because a percentage with no dollar figure behind it is a way of not saying anything.

  • At $5,000 in sales that month$250 to that month’s partners
  • At $10,000 in sales that month$500 to that month’s partners
  • Over a first full seasonRoughly $3,000–6,000 into Vieques nonprofits
